Atramentous Simulacrum

The next few pieces I update to digital were based off of the photos of Chante Moore from her album “Exposed”.  I did these around 2006.

Here’s the original piece I did a few years back.  It was based off of the album cover, and I just kept it around, never really using it.

This was my first try.  I had done this a few times, and it didn’t come out anyway I liked.  I also had something on my mind that was distracting me.  One of those situations that preoccupies my mind and leaves no room for my artwork to progress.  I abandoned this piece and decided to try and use it on the next portrait I do.

I was sitting at my table watching CNN (nothing else was on) and decided to try again.  I didn’t mind this picture, but I still had that “thing” on my mind and knew I could do it better.  I decided to sleep it off and try again the next morning.

Which brings us here.  This is much better than the previous efforts, and I decided to keep this one and progress it.

And here’s the next to last version of what I got.  It was gonna be the final version, but I was afraid people wouldn’t realize the model had a see through shirt on and decided to add to it.

This is the finalized version.  I didn’t want to add to much, so I just gave the shirt cris crossing lines.
