Steve Rogers, Super Soldier

This is a picture of Steve Rogers, the original Captain America and Marvel’s resident Super Soldier.  I was introduced to the character via the Captain America & The Avengers video game on the original NES.  That lead to my introduction to comic books in general, but that’s a story for another time.
I start off with the concept as always.  It’s Steve standing at the bottom of the page, with another image of himself as Captain America, behind and to the left.  The concept is completed with his Vibranium/X factor shield behind them both.
Next, I start my illustration of Steve Rogers.  The uniform used here is his current Super Soldier version in the comics.
Then, I start the illustration of Captain America’ as seen in the upcoming movie.  This uniform is a sort of hybrid of the original 616 uniform, and his WW2 BDUs from the Ultimates comics.
Afterwards, I start on the shield.  This didn’t take long, as I knew I was just going to use the circle tool and stack multiple layers.
From here, I proceeded to color the illustrations I already had.  I did all the colors in Sketchbook Pro, and transferred all the pictures into Photoshop for the final process.
