I went to see Django on the Friday of the week it was released and really enjoyed it. I don’t often get to see a film about a black man who isn’t emasculated, so there wasn’t much it needed to do to lose me to be honest. I also enjoyed the fact that his mission was an honorable one, to save his wife. No settin’ it off, no shuckin’ & jiving, no bullshit. Granted, I don’t have an issue with films displaying that content, it’s just that most films with a black lead have that content.
I started this picture a few times, and just couldn’t get what I was looking for at first. I nearly abandoned it when I figured out how I was going to do it. All the illustration was done in Sketchbook Pro, and the placement of the figures were done separately in Photoshop. The music in the video is from the soundtrack, and the track listings are as follow;
01 Samuel L. Jackson & Jamie Foxx - Six Shots Two Guns
02 John Legend - Who Did That to You-
03 Jerry Goldsmith - Nicaragua (feat. Pat Metheny)
04 Ennio Morricone - Sister Sara's Theme
05 Elisa Toffoli - Ancora Qui
06 Luis Bacalov & Rocky Roberts - Django
